Brancaster Wins Prestigious Silver Award

Silver Medal Win at Prestigious International Awards

Brancaster Gin has been awarded a silver medal in the IWSC awards 2024 (with 90 points out of 100!) The IWSC is the world’s biggest gin awards with thousands of entries coming in from all over the world https://iwsc.net/spirits-categories/gin-awards

Brancaster Gin is based on the botanicals found on the marsh, golf course and sand dunes. Samphire gives the herbaceous notes and elderflower the sweetness. Gorse provides the mellow smoothness and sea buckthorn adds citrus notes. Throw in a drop of local honey and you have the very essence of an early morning walk along the marsh and onto the wide-open sands of Brancaster Beach www.brancastergin.co.uk

The judges’ tasting notes referenced the “fresh citrus notes and juniper aromas followed by a classic and well-balanced palate” and “a hint of floral notes, balsamic pine and a pleasant sweetness led to a clean and enjoyable finish”.

“For brands, achieving a medal at the IWSC is a true benchmark of quality at International level. You get compared to best spirits from a global set of entries, by an elite set of judges focused on objective scoring and feedback-driven discussion.” Olivier Ward, IWSC Gin Judging Committee

“For us to have achieved this accolade after only 8 months is almost unbelievable and testament to our beautiful North Norfolk coastline and the mix of botanicals on the marsh, golf course and dunes.” Tom Earl, co-founder of Brancaster Gin

The team aren’t resting on their laurels. They are launching Brancaster Vodka at the end of next week, which will be on sale at selected local stores and online. Brancaster Vodka is inspired by the landscape overlooking the village – the fields provide the finest Norfolk winter wheat and the hedgerows sustain the honey bees for Brancaster Honey. Brancaster Vodka is made according to an old-fashioned Polish method, double distilled and triple filtered. The local honey delivers the smoothness, the local wheat gives the vodka its depth and nutty sweetness.

The award-winning gin and the new vodka will be available for tasting at the West Norfolk Seasonal Food and Drink Festival on Hunstanton High Street on Sunday 16th June (10am-3pm)
